Gaelectric, the renewable energy developer, has announced it has completed the purchase from Enercon of a 46 MW windfarm at Cloughboola in Kerry.
This follows a separate announcement by the company on Monday, in which it flagged it had acquired interests in two other windfarms in Kilkenny and Tipperary.
Gaelectric is now managing the construction of nine windfarms, and says it will have a portfolio of about 400 MW of wind energy operating by 2017.
The Kerry acquisition announced on Thursday includes 16 turbines each with a maximum 3 MW generating capacity.
As well as owning windfarms, the company also has interests in energy storage, bioenergy, energy trading and market services.
