Property developers Richard Barrett of Treasury Holdings, Ray Grehan of Glenkerrin and Fergal Broder of Sligo engineering firm Lotus Automation feature in an RTÉ television programme this evening on their nominations for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
The programme, which airs at 10.45 pm on RTÉ 1, will feature Treasury's development of an "eco-city" near Shanghai in China. Mr Grehan will be featured examining potential development sites in his helicopter. Mr Broder is featured diving in the Atlantic.
All three are nominees in the industry category of the competition, which will be decided on September 28th. The other nominees in the category are: Gallagher's Bakery in Donegal; IQON Technology in Dundalk; Midland Steel Reinforcement in Co Laois; development firm P Elliot & Co in Co Cavan; and Sap Holdings, a mature tree production company in Co Tipperary.
The other categories are international business and emerging companies. A total of 24 finalists are competing for the ultimate prize. Previous winners of the competition include businessman Denis O'Brien, who is chairman of the judging panel.
