A new Internet service, which will allow consumers to get comparative quotations for a range of financial products and access financial information, is to be introduced by Esat Telecom.

The "Personal Finance Channel" will be available to Irish Internet users through Ireland On-Line and Oceanfree.net, with Bank of Ireland as an anchor tenant on the site.

Users visiting the site will be able to compare financial information on mortgages, personal loans, savings and investments, stocks and shares, credit cards, insurance, pensions and online banking.

As well as access to Bank of Ireland's online banking facilities, the site will provide financial tips and a "financial health check", which will help customers identify which products best suit their needs.
