ESB International has been awarded a £5.7 million three year contract to manage and operate a power station in Ghana. Under the contract with the Volta River ESB will also provide training services. The Takoradi power plant uses similar technology to that used at ESB's North Wall, Marina and Aghada plants.

ESB International, which is an independent subsidiary of the ESB with 600 employees and annual sales of over £60 million has been in Ghana since 1985.
