THE Doyle Hotel Group has appointed the former chairman and chief executive of the Hilton hotel chain, Mr Michael Hirst, to its board as a non executive director.
The move was seen by industry sources yesterday as bringing the group closer to seeking a stock market flotation.
The Doyle Hotel chairman, Dr Paddy Galvin said that Mr Hirst's extensive experience would be a "valuable asset" to the group.
Mr Hirst joins the expanding board of the Doyle Hotel Group. Last year, it appointed former managing partner of Craig Gardner and chairman of the ESB, Mr Billy McCann as a non executive director to the family owned group.
Mr Hirst (54) is currently a consultant to the British tourism and hotel sector. He is also an adviser to the Knight Frank's international hotel property division.
