Following on from the flurry of jobs events in recent weeks, another is taking place in Dublin this Wednesday, with up to 900 jobs up for grabs.

Skilled Irish workers continue to be in demand in New Zealand, Australia and Canada, to the extent that the Working International Expo is back in Dublin this week looking to fill up to positions in the construction, engineering, trades, medical, hospitality and IT sectors.

The event is partnering with Immigration New Zealand to bring together the largest group of New Zealand construction employers to visit Ireland. They hope to fill vacancies for construction managers, guttering installers, project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and carpenters. Event organisers said many of these positions are associated with the rebuilding of the earthquake-hit city of Christchurch.

The event will place in the Clyde Court Hotel from 11am until 4pm on Wednesday. Barwon Health's University Hospital, Victoria's Regional Health Service, Fairmont Hotels, Scotiabank and Kiwirail will be among the exhibitors.

Elsewhere across Dublin on Wednesday, An Post is running an interactive workshop for SMEs in Chartered Accountants House on Pearse Street.

The practical session aims to give business owners insights on how to create smart direct marketing campaigns for their business. Speakers on the day include Ramona Nicholas, joint managing director of Cara Group and a dragon on RTÉ's Dragon's Den.

Award-winning copy writer Robert Hayes McCoy and Conor Horgan of Horgan PR will discuss their experience of creating effective direct marketing campaigns. Attendees at the event will also learn how admailer can help them boost sales and win new customers without spending a fortune.
