Farrell home fails to sell

The home of the former Irish Permanent managing director, Dr Edmund Farrell, was withdrawn at auction yesterday at £1

The home of the former Irish Permanent managing director, Dr Edmund Farrell, was withdrawn at auction yesterday at £1.8 million and was under negotiation through agents McNally Handy and Partners. The large five-bedroom detached house, Grassmere, on 1.5 acres at Westminster Road, Foxrock, Co Dublin, was the subject of a legal dispute between Dr Farrell and the former building society. The issue was settled in the High Court last November with Dr Farrell retaining ownership of the property. He is keeping one acre at the back of the property where he plans to build a new home.
