Central Bank warns over investment firm

The Central Bank of Ireland has issued a warning about an unauthorised investment firm offering financial services.

Regulators said Pendulum Capital Markets (USA) is not authorised as an investment firm in Ireland, the Central Bank said, bringing to 201 the number of such firms that have had their names published by Central Bank since 1998.  

If consumers deal with an unauthorised firm, they are not eligible for compensation from the investor compensation scheme. It is a criminal offence to operate in Ireland without authorisation from the Central Bank.
