The International Financial Services Centre has moved up a place to 13th in a ranking of global financial hubs.
Dublin now ranks just ahead of Tokyo, which slipped two places to 14th this year. The big mover was Amsterdam, which rose four places from 13th to 9th, according to the list published by the Banker.
The IFSC scored 38.70 in this year’s rankings compared with 37.64 last year. The top five was unchanged on 2011. New York led the way with a score of 70.11, followed by London, Singapore, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.
London topped the ranking for inward foreign direct investment between 2006 and 2011, with 10, and Dublin came 10th, with a score of 2.4.
The IFSC was 7th in the ranking of international debt securities, with a score of 1.65.
In terms of cost factors Dublin ranked 6th, with 8.58. Copenhagen topped this list.
