Bord Failte's web site (http://www.ireland.travel.ie/) has been awarded a High Commendation in the Financial Times Business Web Site of 1997 awards. The panel of judges, consisting of Internet business experts, concluded that the Tourist Board's Web site was "engaging and impressive", with the 3D views offering great interactivity, and the overall presence offering a "friendly feel that reflects the culture being promoted". The Web site was a finalist in the public sector category. The top award went to the Republic of Kazakstan.
