LITTLE-KNOWN Dublin-based Flint Telecom, which has a listing in the US, appears to making some progress across the Atlantic.
In an update to investors yesterday, Flint said its eight subsidiaries were now generating more than $75 million in annualised revenues. This is well ahead of the $45.5 million projection offered to investors at the end of 2007 when the company was raising funds.
Although based in Dublin, Flint is developing its business in the US market and has an office in south Florida.
Set up in 2004, it provides software to US-based internet service providers, cable companies and other telecom operators that allows them to offer internet phone calls in a bundled package of services, including broadband and TV.
Flint is led by Irishman Vincent Browne, a former chief executive of technology group Prime Carrier Ltd. The company has been in acquisition mode for some time, buying six subsidiaries of China Voice Holding Corporation in January.
Chief financial officer Steve Keaveney said Flint was “well on our way to profitability, which will eliminate or greatly reduce our need for additional capital to fund operations”, which will no doubt be music to the ears of its many Irish shareholders.
