German shares ended trade yesterday slightly higher in a modest rebound from steep losses late last week but traders said the downward correction will soon resume.

The 30 share DAX index ended bourse trade up 11.42 points at 2,468.91 in thin volumes since London financial markets were closed for a public holiday.

Paris CAC-40: 2090-42 (-24.96)

French shares finished near their session low as a lower opening on Wall Street affected the market, which was consolidating its recent gains, dealers said.

Italian shares closed easier in lacklustre trading amid caution over the mini budget and April inflation data.
