Irish investors keen to diversify their property holdings can now invest directly in the British market through a new property fund. Equity Bank and Savills Fund Management have launched a £50 million sterling property investment partnership, which they hope will prove attractive for a small number of investors.

The partnership seeks individual contributions of between £500,000 and £2.5 million, with participation in the fund to be limited to 10-15 investors. Savills will also act as a co-investor offering to invest a minimum of £1 million of its own equity into the partnership. Investments will be targeted at four main sectors of the British commercial property market: office, retail, industrial and retail warehouse. Individual properties to be acquired for the fund will cost between £500,000 and £5 million. The partnership will be established for a six-year period with the funds being managed by Savills Fund Management.
