Funding of £514,000 (#652,780) has been approved for social economy projects in Galway and Mayo, Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney said yesterday.

Sixteen new projects by community and voluntary groups will receive grants under the Social Economy Programme. A grant of £4,000 is being made to each promoter to help draw up a comprehensive business plan.
