GERMAN broad, or M3 money supply, showed growth of 8.7 per cent in August from a figure of 8.6 per cent in July, the Bundesbank said yesterday.
Analysts had expected a figure of 7.6 to 8.5 per cent. The Bundesbank, which uses the M3 figure as its main guide to monetary policy, has set a target for the year of 4 to 7 per cent.
