Globalcentre, a subsidiary of the telecommunications company Global Crossing, has confirmed it will establish an e-business centre at the Clonshaugh Industrial estate in Dublin. The facility is estimated to be worth about £20 million (€25.39 million) and will employ more than 100 people over the next five years.
As reported in The Irish Times earlier this year, the new development will include an Internet data centre, a network control centre and a customer support centre which will be directly connected to the Global Crossing fibreoptic network to the US and Europe.
The 100,000 sq ft centre will provide complex web hosting and Internet infrastructure services in the Republic.
