Godson to join board of AIB

The chief executive of CRH, Mr Don Godson, is one of two new appointments to the board of AIB

The chief executive of CRH, Mr Don Godson, is one of two new appointments to the board of AIB. He joins as a non-executive director along with Mr Adrian Burke, a former senior partner with Arthur Andersen.

Mr Godson (58) joined CRH 30 years ago, having previously worked with US and UK firms in research and project management. He is also a member of the board of the UCD Graduate School of Business. Mr Godson has a firstclass honours degrees in mechanical and industrial engineering from University College Dublin. Mr Burke worked in Arthur Andersen's London and Dublin offices for more than 30 years. Aged 56, he was managing partner Ireland from 1983 to 1995. He is chairman of the Joint Ethics Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a former chairman of the Institute of Directors in Ireland and the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland.
