HAULIERS at the Bell terminal in Waterford are to meet the liquidator this morning in an effort to resolve a dispute over monies owed and get goods moving again.
A number of hauliers are still at the Bell facility, according to sources and a figure of around Pounds 50,000 is said be outstanding, before the hauliers will co-operate further.went into examinership, are in dispute over monies owed for work done during the examinership period.
Bell Lines went into examinership last February, but two proposed rescue plans collapsed and the company was placed in liquidation last Friday morning. The company operated the ultra-modern Belview terminal in Waterford and was a large confributor to Waterford harbour's finances.
The liquidator, Mr David Hughes, of Ernst & Young, could not be contacted for comment yesterday. He was appointed examiner in February and liquidator last Friday. Haulage sources said the hauliers would not do any more work until the issue of monies owed was sorted out.
The majority of the 600-plus staff in Ireland and around the rest of Europe have been let go, but a number still remain to work on the liquidation process.
