Health and dental costs have fallen throughout the State this year as the economic crisis continued, a new survey has shown.

According to the Avantis Health Global Health and Dental Price index, Irish health and dental charges dropped by an average of between 3 per cent and 10 per cent since the spring. However, the survey also showed there was a variation of up to 70 per cent in some treatments around Ireland, and patients could also save up to 50 per cent on some procedures if they travelled abroad.
