IRELAND'S Jeremy Henry (21), followed in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Jim Baker and David Corkill when he cruised into the singles quarter finals of the World Indoor bowls at Preston yesterday.

Henry, the first round conqueror of three time world champion Richard Corsie, of Scotland, bundled out Australia's Adam Jeffery 7-3, 7-2, 7-4 to set up a last eight clash with twice English champion, Mervyn King tomorrow.

"Mervyn beat me in the Home Countries Championship semifinals in Nottingham last year, but my victories here have boosted my confidence and hopefully I can gain revenge," said Henry last night.

David Corkill, twice winner of the Granada TV Superbowl, attempts to join Henry in the quarterfinals when he challenges defending champion, Andy Thomson, of England, today.
