Hopkins sells shares

Current Account has an abiding interest in company directors buying and selling their shares

Current Account has an abiding interest in company directors buying and selling their shares. And one of the companies where directors are at their most active in this regard is Independent. Brendan Hopkins, head of Independent's British operations, is a regular visitor to the market. Mr Hopkins has managed to make almost £90,000 - at the expense of his personal pension fund. On Monday, Mr Hopkins disclosed he had bought 35,000 Independent shares at an option price of €1.66 and then sold the same shares to his own pension fund at €4.90 each, the going rate in the market.
