THE former chief executive of model railway group Hornby, who was ousted in October, received a £720,000 sterling pay off, the company revealed yesterday as it reported hefty losses for the 15 months to March 31st.

The cost of the settlement package for Mr Keith Ness is more than double the £340,000 figure he was reported to have been claiming earlier this year, which the company had said it would contest.
