THE latest news from IMRO, the copyright music enforcers, has an item: "Did you Know? My Fair Lady royalties worth £3 million to the National Gallery." It goes on: "Now, thanks to the continuing success of his play Pygmalion, better known as My Fair Lady, the National Gallery looks set to receive another £370,000 in royalties due as a result of a court settlement reached between the Shaw Trust and the US media giant in London recently."

This story bears an uncanny resemblance to a story on page 1 of The Irish Times last month but, amazingly, IMRO - which gets so hot under the collar about copyright - omits to credit the source.
