The job:
I never think twice about having to come to work, I actually enjoy my work.
Adapting to the electronics industry:
The people who started the Irish facility had never worked in industry before. They brought no baggage, they had no pre-conceived ideas of what was right or what was wrong. We were moulded into the ways of the American multinational.
The American way:
The work ethos is very much American. There is no demarcation. It is a can do attitude.
Managing industrial relations:
We do not encourage people not to join unions. It just does not come up.
Managerial style:
The way I tend to operate is by consensus but it is not a democracy.
Poaching in the industry:
We tend to be at the butt end of poaching, people tend to be poached from us by the large multinationals coming in. That tends to be typical for the guys who are established for some time.
