3 signs deal to allow music transfers

Ireland's fourth mobile phone operator, 3, has signed an agreement with EMI and Sony BMG which will allow its customers to transfer music that they have downloaded to their phones onto their computers at no extra cost.

Until now, customers buying tracks on their mobile phones haven't been able to access their music on other devices.

On 3's new music service, called Dual Download, customers who buy their music using their phone will not only get their track delivered to their handset, but will be able to get a copy of their track online. They can then play it on their computer, transfer it onto an MP3 player or burn it onto a CD.

System to upgrade Smart's service

Smart Telecom has set up a partnership with Galway-based Graham Technology to implement a new customer service process with the aim of improving customer satisfaction.

The new system will provide Smart Telecom with full visibility and tracking of customer correspondence. The introduction of some automated systems will also free up contact centre staff to deal with other issues.

Mamut teams up with Payback

Mamut, a provider of business software for small and medium-sized firms, has teamed up with Kerry-based Payback Software to provide locally tailored payroll systems to its Irish customers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Payback Software will be integrated into Mamut's range of business software in Ireland and will also be available individually as Mamut Payroll. Mamut's software recently became available in Ireland.
