The appointment of an accountant to carry out an independent audit of the administration of the EBS Building Society staff pension fund will take place within weeks. The review is to be carried out following concerns about the administration of the fund, which is carried out by Irish Pensions Trust. A number of issues relating to the management of the fund were highlighted in a report in yesterday's Irish Times. In a statement issued yesterday Irish Pensions Trust said: "We welcome the decision to appoint an independent auditor to conduct a full review of the administration of the EBS Pension Fund. We will co-operate fully with this process which we hope will be speedy"
