Irish industrial production output rose strongly in September, reversing the downward trend in the previous three months.
Data from the Central Statistics Office show industrial production rose by 13.2 per cent in September, compared to the same month last year. The positive out-turn follows a 6.3 per cent decline in output in the July to September period. Industrial turnover, which reflects the value of sales, shows that output for manufacturing industries was down 1.8 per cent when compared with the preceding three-month period. But year-on-year, output showed a 13.7 per cent rise since September 2001.
