Industrial turnover increased by 11.1 per cent in March 1999 compared with the same month last year. Pharmaceuticals saw a massive increase of 56.2 per cent, with mining, quarrying and turf up 40.9 per cent.

Office and data processing machinery was up 6.8 per cent, while electrical engineering experienced a decrease of 5.1 per cent.
