The Irish Times Group is delighted to run the Innovation Awards again this year. Innovation is at the heart of driving progress for companies and for society. Irish companies have a proud pedigree of innovation across all sectors and this year’s entrants were no exception. As customers’ needs evolve and they want greater segmentation, quicker response, easier access, and greater environmental and social credentials from the companies that they deal with, these businesses have to respond by being more creative and innovative. This is what we have seen again this year. I would like to commend all of our entrants, congratulate all of our winners and thank our sponsors for their continued support.

Chief Executive, The Irish Times
This is the 12th year of The Irish Times Innovation Awards and once again the quality of entrant was outstanding. I know our panel of judges, expertly chaired by leading entrepreneur Ed Harty, faced difficult choices in choosing winners for the various categories, and the overall prize.
Unfortunately, the pandemic put paid to our plan to hold an in-person event for these awards, but this magazine is designed to showcase the skills, passion, and ingenuity of all those shortlisted and the businesses they have founded.
Hopefully, we will be able to gather in person later this year for the next edition of the awards. Our intention is to invite this year’s award winners to the event and to put them on stage to celebrate their achievements.
Innovation is crucial to the continuing success of any organisation, particularly in today’s fast-paced digital world.
The Irish Times is passionate about innovation. Not just within the four walls of our business, as we continue our transition to being a multi-platform publisher of high quality news, analysis, interviews and features, and as we diversify our offerings in complementary areas such as audio, video, training and property.
Our innovation coverage is a year-round feature on the business pages of The Irish Times, supported by a fantastic group of sponsors who are heavily committed to innovation in their own fields. My thanks to all our innovation sponsors for their support and encouragement with these awards.
I would also like to thank the many colleagues in The Irish Times who work so hard on our Innovation coverage throughout this year. This magazine was carefully curated by its editor Barry McCall, supported by a talented team of contributors.
Finally, congratulations to all our award winners – PMD Solutions, ID Pal, Glasport Bio, Avatar Academy Technologies, and Biasol – and to our overall winner, PMD Solutions. Your awards are richly deserved, and I want to wish you all continued success.
