Sixteen more jobs will go at Internet Ireland, which runs Unison.ie, Independent News & Media's internet portal.

According to Internet Ireland managing director Mr Barry Breslin, the job cuts, across all areas of the company, are part of a cost-cutting exercise. Following a strategic review of the operation earlier this year, the company laid off its Web design team, losing 10 jobs. Internet Ireland is owned by Chorus and Independent News & Media, which both have a 50 per cent shareholding.
