IONA Technologies has bought the Virginia-based consultancy company, Aurora Technologies. It specialises in offering a range of services around Iona's middleware product family, Orbix.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but Iona says it plans to merge Aurora with its professional services group. The move will enhance Iona's consultancy and training capabilities in the North American market.
