Bocom International, an Irish software company, has won a contract from the Greek government to transmit Web content and files, including examination papers, to 2,000 Greek schools in an encrypted format. The contract is said to be worth £400,000 (€507,895).
Bocom, a multimedia data broadcasting company, is using its Internet broadcast system for education, called "EdCast", which avoids telephone costs by using spare bandwidth capacity on existing cable, satellite or terrestrial TV networks to deliver Internet content.
