Forget Fawlty Towers - a new eight-part documentary on the real hotel business promises some hilarious moments as it delves behind the reception desk of the Liverpool Hotel Adelphi. Hotel, on BBC 1, Monday, 9.30 p.m.10 p.m., starts with the Grand National bomb hoax earlier this year which forced thousands of spectators to seek hotel accommodation in Liverpool. The Adelphi's general manager, Ms Eileen Downey, lost no time renting out spare mattresses for £45 a night.
