It's payback time for Ernst & Young in Dairygold deal

The days of audits being divvied out between the big accountancy firms are well and truly numbered

The days of audits being divvied out between the big accountancy firms are well and truly numbered. A few weeks ago, we reported how Ernst & Young had lost out to KPMG for the Irish Life & Permanent audit. Now, Ernst has turned the tables and has taken over as sole auditor to Dairygold, having shared the audit with KPMG ever since the Mitchelstown-Ballyclough merger that created Dairygold. It mightn't quite make up for the fee income lost with the Irish Life & Permanent audit, but no doubt Ernst is pleased that it was KPMG it displaced from the Dairygold job.
