The Supreme Court has reserved judgment on a bid by an international insurance company to transfer to the US legal proceedings taken by a Limerick-based chip design firm, Analog Devices. Mr Paul Gallagher SC, for Zurich Insurance, a member of the Zurich Financial Services Group, yesterday moved the company's appeal against a High Court decision that the case should be heard before the Irish courts. The High Court ruled the matter arose from a "business interruption" incident at Analog's chip plant. Analog employs 1500 people at plants in Limerick and Cork.
A report in yesterday's editions incorrectly stated the action at the centre of the case had been taken by Zurich Insurance against Analog Devices.
