LIVERPOOL pub landlord George Hindley stumbled on a treasure trove in his attic. Liverpool fan George discovered a dozen soccer tickets thought to be the oldest items of printed football memorabilia in existence.
George found the bundle of tickets for the game between Everton and Notts County on May 1st, 1890 during building work at his pub, which was once the headquarters and changing rooms for Everton Football Club before it moved to Goodison Park in 1892.
The tickets are for an end of season friendly played at Anfield then Everton's home ground and could be worth thousands of pounds. By the way, Notts County won one nil. And it wasn't carried live on Sky.
