Sercom Solutions, a Dublin-based provider of supply chain management and e-business services, will create 150 jobs within seven months as part of a €7 million (£5.5 million) investment in a new plant in Limerick. The 92,000 sq ft building is due to be completed next June, at which time the 23-year-old company will employ 250 people at the Raheen Industrial Estate.
Mr Kevin Henry, managing director of SerCom Solutions, said the company would provide a range of "cradle to grave" supply chain management services at the plant, including procurement, assembly, printing, warehousing and logistics.
Supply chain management aims to achieve shorter lead times to market, reduced inventories levels and cost-effective distribution. Among SerCom's clients in Limerick are Dell, which employs 4,500 people, Nortel Networks and RSA Security.
SerCom, which employs more than 500 people and has a €104 million turnover, is a subsidiary of DCC, the Dublin and London-listed marketing and distribution group. It also has a plant in Greenock, Scotland.
