HOMEOWNERS in Stockport near Manchester were left asking: "What's the Story?" after Oasis superstar Liam Gallagher pulled out of a house deal shortly before exchanging contracts. Liam pulled out of the deal to buy a luxury home in Stockport, Greater Manchester, after beating the price down by £17,500 to £167,500.

The disappointed sellers said they met Gallagher a number of times and "he seemed a very nice young man . . . always very polite and courteous." It appears the location of the house, beside a girls' secondary school, may have deterred Gallagher, who would have feared a host of "young wans" wondering what was over the wall.
