The Magee Clothing Company is closing its Ballymena factory in Northern Ireland with the loss of 113 jobs. Management blamed high production costs in the North.

Elsewhere, the Craigavon-based Penn Nyla, formerly Courtaulds Jersey, is blaming the impact of cheap imports as one of the reasons behind its decision to withdraw from manufacturing in the North. Up to 140 jobs are under threat the factory.
