The prices of manufactured goods continued to rise in May, driven by strong increases in computers, electronics and food prices.
Monthly factory gate prices increased 1 per cent between July and August, the third monthly increase in a row, according to the Central Statistics Office’s latest wholesale price index.
The price index for export sales increased by 1 per cent in the month of August, while home sales rose by 1.1 per cent.
The most significant changes in the twelve months to August were increases in computer and electronic products up 15.9 per cent food products up 10.6 per cent and energy products which rose 4.2 per cent.
Petrol prices increased by 11.1 per cent.
There was a fall in price of almost 10 per cent in dairy products in the year to August.
