Newry company FM Environmental is celebrating a “significant contract” win with Grand Central Station in New York to deliver a high-tech product that will help the historical landmark comply with the city’s waste disposal regulations.
The specialist engineering firm has won a contract to provide its Grease Guardian products – which deal with fats, oils and grease issues in the wastewater sewerage network – to the station.
FM Environmental has supplied more than 13,000 Grease Guardian products to organisations across the world including airports, sports stadiums and hotels.
In Ireland the product has been installed in locations from Dublin Airport to Croke Park and the Guinness Brewery.
The company established a New York headquarters two years ago and has more than 300 US customers.
Details of FM Environmental's latest contract win in the US was confirmed by the North's Minister for Enterprise Jonathan Bell as he concluded an Invest NI Tech Mission to the US.
Mr Bell told American organisations on the mission: “We now have a high concentration of US software investors locating in Northern Ireland.”
