Germany's DAX index ended firmer but below the day's best levels with the index trading shy of the 4,800-point level. Gains, inspired by the firmer start to Wall Street and overall bullish sentiment, were seen continuing next week, dealers said.
Paris CAC-40: 3483.22 (+87.42)
Shares soared to a new record in a rally boosted by hefty volume and supported by dollar strength. BNP extended Thursday's 9.9 per cent gain while Societe Generale and Paribas were also up.
