The Frankfurt stock market pushed forward firmly, encouraged by strong chemical stocks and by demand for Kaufhof and Asko shares, traders said after the close.
Paris CAC-40: 1950.12 (-12.29)
The Paris market finished the week off with a loss as the CAC-40 index finished the day at 1950.12 points, down 0.63 per cent on the Thursday close. Traders said the market deteriorated markedly late in the day after the announcement of some US statistics that hurt American markets.

The Milan stock market suffered a slight drop as the Mibtel index finished 10 points off, 0.11 per cent down from the Thursday close.
