WALL Street stocks rallied deeper into record territory yesterday as the latest indications of surprising strength in the US economy failed to ignite inflation jitters in the bond market.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 67.73 points to close at 6,833.10, after jumping past 6,800 for the first time on its way to its fourth new high this week and eighth in 10 sessions.
Advances outnumbered declines by an 8-to-5 margin on the New York Stock Exchange, with 1,549 up, 967 down and 848 unchanged.
The Nasdaq composite index 848 to 1,349.06, breaking Tuesday's record close, and the American Stock Exchange composite index rose 2.59 to 589.95.
