Trinity College has become the first Irish university to receive international accreditation for its Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme from the international Association of MBAs.

The college provost, Dr Thomas Mitchell said this "places us among the most respected business schools in the world. It will facilitate valuable networking with other accredited business schools."

The AMBA accreditation programme operates as an independent validation of business schools' MBA programmes, assessing such factors as the availability of research material and facilities, calibre of staff and other elements.

As well as Trinity MBA programmes in Oxford and Cambridge were also recognised this year, and they join other accredited schools such as INSEAD-the European Institute of Business Administration, London Business School, and Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris.
