McGovern flies over to take corporate travel role

Ms Catherine McGovern has become the new sales manager with Travelforce, the corporate travel company

Ms Catherine McGovern has become the new sales manager with Travelforce, the corporate travel company. Ms McGovern joins the company from CityJet where she was sales manager for three years. She previously worked with Ryanair and Hertz Rent-A-Car.

Two appointments have been made to the Canada Life Ireland investment team which was recently established.

Mr Andrew Acheson joins as manager (US equities) from Norwich Union (UK) where he was a member of its North and Latin American team from 1994.

Mr Brian Gallagher joins as manager (UK equities) having worked in fund management in London since 1993. He joins from Aberdeen Asset Managers where he co-managed a £1 billion suite of income funds, mainly invested in British equities.

The independent Dublin radio station, 98 FM, has made three new appointments.

Ms Elaine Geraghty becomes events manager following a period as station administrator. Ms Geraghty presented the station's breakfast show for seven years and before that she worked with the Sunday Tribune.

Mr Pat Mannion becomes agency sales executive after spending several years as creative director and a weekend sports presenter. Prior to that he worked with AFA, Brian Cronin and Associates and the Creative Department.

Mr John Taylor re-joins the station as programme director after leaving the post of programme director with Radio Network in New Zealand. Mr Taylor worked with 98 FM between 1994 and 1995.

Bill O'Herlihy Communications Group has appointed Ms Fiona Gillespie as deputy managing director. Ms Gillespie specialises in financial and corporate communications and is responsible for business development and client relations.

Mr Martin Long becomes an associate director at the company. Mr Long was secretary to Fianna Fail's team at the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation. Mr Mark Garrett becomes an account executive at the company.

Mr Trevor Sullivan has been appointed non-executive director of AllinAll Ingredients, the company which services the food processing industry. Mr Sullivan was formely managing director of Memorex Ireland.

Mr David Galavan has become non-executive chairman of Combiflow, which provides a range of liquid handling equipment. Both appointments were made through the Boardroom Centre.
