The film-production company owned Irish movie star, Saoirse Ronan, recorded profits of €111,667 last year, according to accounts just filed to the Companies Registration Office (CRO).

The 21-year-old actress set up Slaney Productions Limited with her mother, Monica, at the beginning of 2014.

Profits stood at €111,667 at the end of last year, while the firm also reported a cash balance of €36,628. Saoirse Ronan is the sole shareholder in the firm, although her mother is also listed as a director.

Slaney Productions Limited was owed €162,224 by debtors last year, while the amount falling due to creditors within one year stood at €87,075 on 31 December 2014.

The company was liable for corporation tax of €26,302, according to the accounts.

Ms Ronan was born in New York but moved to Carlow when she was three-years-old.

The Hollywood A-lister has been tipped for an Oscar nomination for her role in the forthcoming Irish production, Brooklyn, which will be released in November.
