The examiner for the company which owns the Sunday Business Post is confident an investor will be found to secure the paper's future, the High Court has heard.

Michael McAteer, the examiner for Post Publications is dealing with three parties interested in investing in the company, Mr Justice Peter Kelly was told.

Rossa Fanning, for the examiner, said court protection had already been extended to June 13th but he was keeping the court updated in relation to the investment proposals.

Mr McAteer was in ongoing talks with three separate companies, though none had yet signed an investment agreement, Mr Fanning said.

Two of the companies are Irish-US consortia, one with Irish media experience. The third is a consortium backed by an Irish finance house.

Mr Fanning said Mr McAteer was confident a deal with one of the investors could be done by next Friday.

The matter will come back before Mr Justice Kelly the following week.
