UPC added 24,300 subscribers in the first quarter of this year, bringing its total number to 1,084,000 .
Compared to the same quarter a year ago total subscriptions increased by 7 per cent or 71,400.
UPC, which is owned by Liberty Global, said it had 313,000 home phone users at the end of quarter one, representing an increase of 23 per cent on the same quarter last year.
Its results published this morning show the firm experienced a 10 per cent year-on-year increase in broadband subscriptions, with the total number rising to 348,300.
The company said 75,000 customers have now subscribed to its new Horizon TV service.
“We have made a great start to the year driven by steady demand for our fibre power services and the launch of several innovative new products. Our positive momentum is continuing with growth in subscriptions across digital video, high-speed Internet and business services,” UPC Ireland chief financial officer Carol Grennan said.
