Microsoft Research, (MSR) the European offshoot of the six-year-old research arm of Microsoft Corporation, and the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies will today announce the establishment of a joint European research fellowship. This is the first time Microsoft has partnered a European research body. The fellowships, intended to be filled by two post-doctoral students, will conduct basic research into computing and applied probability, and they will divide their time between Fitzwilliam College Cambridge and the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. Each fellowship will be appointed for two years and represents an investment of approximately £50,000 per annum. They will be advertised shortly.
